Sylvain NIZOU

Cofounder & CEO of HEXANA

Sylvain Nizou, a Ph.D. Engineer with a diverse background in high-tech industry and research, has developed a systemic expertise in the fields of renewable energy, nuclear energy, and industrial decarbonization. His career has led him to work with a variety of organizations, ranging from large corporations to SMEs, startups, and research institutes like the CEA. He has a particular interest in low-carbon energy technologies, hydrogen-related markets, as well as CO₂ capture and utilization, with the goal of reducing fossil fuel use in industry and transportation to support a realistic energy transition.

Paul GAUTHÉ

Co-founder & CTO of HEXANA

Paul Gauthé began his career at CEA in 2007 as a safety engineer on the sodium-cooled fast reactor (SFR) Phénix in Marcoule, where he supervised the reactor’s end-of-life tests. In 2010, he joined the ASTRID project in Cadarache, coordinating core safety studies and contributing to the Safety Options Report. He also represented France in several working groups within the Generation IV International Forum. In parallel, he served as a parliamentary assistant from 2018 to 2020, contributing to the work of the Sustainable Development and Regional Planning Committee. Following the discontinuation of ASTRID in 2019, he became the project manager for small reactors and technological monitoring before co-founding HEXANA in 2023. Paul Gauthé is a graduate of the École Centrale de Lyon (2006).

Under the leadership of our founders, Sylvain Nizou and Paul Gauthé, we share a common goal: to develop sustainable and reliable energy solutions to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future.
