I – About Us

HEXANA, a start-up spin-off of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), is developing an innovative energy platform combining sodium-cooled fast reactors with a thermal storage system. The goal of this solution is to supply decarbonized, flexible, competitive and sovereign energy, tailored to industrial needs. HEXANA stands out as a reliable alternative to fossil fuels. Built on the legacy of Phénix, Superphénix and ASTRID projects, HEXANA is innovating by combining unique know-how and decades of expertise to transform nuclear energy into a major asset for the energy and climate transition. HEXANA, winner of the France 2030 award, is located in Aix-en-Provence, Paris and Brussels. HEXANA is a member of several organisations such as Gifen, the European SMR Industrial Alliance and NuclearEurope, the Capénergies and Nuclear Valley clusters, France Deeptech, Forces Françaises de l’Industrie, La French Tech Aix-Marseille and Provence Fabrique des Possibles.
